Art Talk As part of its monthly ArtTalk series, the Confederation Centre Art Gallery is pleased to present a talk on conceptual artist David Askevold by curator David Diviney on Thursday, May 31, at 7:00 p.m. Diviney is the curator of exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and organized the major solo retrospective exhibition David Askevold: Once Upon a Time in the East, now on display at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery. Originally from Philadelphia, Diviney, received his MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and knew the late artist well through his studies and his directorship at Eye Level Gallery in Halifax. Diviney will share with the audience his experiences working on this show, provide a brief history of the artist's work and life, and discuss Askevold's influence on Canadian and international contemporary art. The ArtTalk is open to the public and is free to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Artist Trading Cards Registration Deadline Register now for the gallery's annual Artist Trading Cards event to be held on Thursday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. ATCs are miniature works of art, no larger than a baseball card, used for trading with others. You'll see a wide variety of techniques including linocut, watercolour, collage and plenty of mixed media creations. Registration deadline is Friday, June 29.
