Guided gallery tour this Thursday at Confederation Centre

July 26, 2011

Gain a new appreciation of Canadian art with a bit of expert help this Thursday at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery.

Beginning in the Entrance Gallery with the exhibition Depiction, gallery director Kevin Rice and curator Pan Wendt will give a guided tour through the summer exhibitions. The walking tour will highlight small selections of work and offer in-depth interpretations along with the creative concepts behind the exhibitions.

The guided gallery tour is this Thursday, July 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. and is free to attend.

The summer exhibitions include Depiction, featuring historical works from the gallery's Canadian Art Collection and thematically related contemporary art works; Rural Readymade, examining the boundary between what is, and what is not, art; Free Parking, exploring contemporary artists' engagement with the aesthetic of the urban park; and Aganetha Dyck: Guest Workers, featuring a living beehive and work based on collaborations between the artist and honeybees.

Depiction is sponsored by Hyndman and Company Limited. Aganetha Dyck: Guest Workers is sponsored by Honibe.
