Confederation Centre of the Arts remembers Angèle Arsenault

March 5, 2014

(Charlottetown) - Acclaimed Acadian singer Angèle Arsenault passed away this week in Quebec and Confederation Centre joins the many organizations who have lauded her contributions to the Prince Edward Island cultural community. Angèle Arsenault was a member of the national arts centre's board of directors from 2006-2009 and chairman Wayne Hambly remembers her valued contributions to Confederation Centre. "I can confirm the many news reports that describe Angèle Arsenault as a vibrant and generous supporter of the arts," said Hambly. "Her Acadian heritage and her international experience as a performer added great value to our discussions at Confederation Centre of the Arts."

Angèle Arsenault generously contributed her time to the Centre's Board of Directors, but she was also a popular entertainer who appeared on the Confederation Centre stage numerous times. Her national profile and popularity in the province of Quebec led to a much greater awareness of P.E.I.'s cultural richness. Confederation Centre of the Arts offers sincere condolences to the Arsenault family.
