Calling All Penny Pinchers!

April 2, 2014

Confederation Centre accepting donations for annual spring fair

(Charlottetown, P.E.) - It is an established Island tradition now each spring - the Friends of Confederation Centre's annual Pinch Penny Fair. Bargain hunters take note - the 2014 fair date is Saturday April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the same location as always -- Memorial Hall and throughout the concourse at Confederation Centre of the Arts.

"The Pinch Penny Fair celebrates 2014 and the Friends of the Confederation Centre of the Arts," says Vicki Allen-Cook, chair of this year's event, organized by the Friends. "We look forward to an exciting day of entertainment and celebration!"

The Pinch Penny Fair is more than a giant flea market; shoppers can explore the silent auction, plant tables, and baked goods, as well as locally made arts and crafts. Some of this year's entertainment includes an Anne tea party with cordial; Anne hair braiding; storytelling; and a Kindermusik demonstration. The Music Man, Robert Pendergast, will also be performing for kids of all ages at 10:30 a.m. in the concourse

Donations are being accepted until April 18 at Confederation Centre's Richmond Street entrance. Art, books, plants, gardening supplies, tools, household items, sports equipment, jewelry, or small furniture are all welcome, but no clothing or computers please.
