Jessie Inman Named Among Top 50 Atlantic Canadian CEOs

May 22, 2014

‘Atlantic Business Magazine' recognizes Confederation Centre CEO as one of region's best

(Charlottetown, P.E.I.) - Confederation Centre of the Arts has been on an awards hot streak of late, and now Jessie Inman, chief executive officer, has been recognized herself. Atlantic Business Magazine selected Inman as one of the ‘Top 50 Atlantic Canadian CEOs' in the May/June issue and celebrated all recipients at a recent gala event in Halifax.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Fathers of Confederation Buildings Trust, known as Confederation Centre of the Arts, I congratulate Jessie on this significant accomplishment," says Wayne Hambly, chairman. "Since commencing as CEO just two and half short years ago, Jessie has pioneered numerous new initiatives, and made many strides forward for this organization with great dedication, diligence, and vision."

Among many highlights, in 2012-13 Inman and her team raised $7 million for first-phase renovations of the Centre's 1,100-seat Homburg Theatre, and more than $2 million for endowment in the Centre's Foundation. She, artistic director Anne Allan, and writer-composer Ted Dykstra also led the development and production of the 2013 world premiere musical by Dykstra, Evangeline - a critical and commercial success.

This accolade follows other recent awards for the Centre, including a Guinness World Record for longest-running annual musical (Anne of Green Gables-The MusicalTM); the 2014 P.E.I. Premier's Award for Tourism; the P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation ‘Publication of the Year Award' for Cradling Confederation; and a 2014 Atlantic Canada Craft Award of Excellence for the Centre's gift shop, The Showcase.

Atlantic Business Magazine's Top 50 CEO Awards are recognized as Atlantic Canada's premiere business recognition event. Since 1999, the magazine has dedicated one of its six issues per year to profiling the region's most accomplished business leaders. Nominations are submitted by readers, and nominees are judged according to: their corporate, community, and industry involvement; their company's growth in recent years; and, their responses to various managerial challenges.
