Calling All Alumni! Confederation Centre Holding 50th Anniversary Reunion

August 27, 2014

All past and present staff, cast, and crew welcome for gathering September 3-5

(Charlottetown, P.E.I.) - Over 50 years, a lot of talented people have been involved in the operation of Confederation Centre of the Arts, and now the Centre is inviting everyone back to check out the theatre renovations, visit the latest exhibits in the gallery and most importantly connect with old friends.

"We are very proud that Confederation Centre is a vital part of our community," says Jessie Inman, CEO. "We can't wait to see who turns up on September 3! I'd like to state clearly that all are welcome to join in for this event, even if it is only to see a show, attend a reception, or to visit the hospitality suite."

Centre staff, cast, crew, and creators from the past 50 years are all invited to reunite in Charlottetown this September 3 to 5 during P.E.I.'s Founders Week. The reunion coincides with the Centre's major Open House event set for September 4 to 6 and alumni are invited to take part as guests or hosts during that event. Anyone who has worked or volunteered at the Centre, including: the Gallery; The Charlottetown Festival; administration; stage crew; the Confederation Singers and Youth Chorus; dance umbrella; Mavor's; and The Showcase gift shop are welcome for a few days of receptions, social events, and good cheer.

A special luncheon in the monthly ‘Circle around the Centre' series will take place in Studio 1 on September 4 at 12 noon featuring Island favourite, Wade Lynch. Lynch will speak to his 20 years of memories as an actor, writer, associate-artistic director, and community liaison for The Charlottetown Festival and Confederation Centre. There is a $20 charge for this luncheon.

Along with reconnecting with old friends and meeting many new faces, activities will include a pre-show reception and viewing of either Canada ROCKS! and/or Anne of Green Gables-The MusicalTM, a post-show gathering at Mavor's, and a hospitality suite. Alumni can see the schedule and register at and registration is encouraged by August 31, to allow for booking of theatre tickets, and preparations for the receptions. There is a small registration fee, and all alumni are encouraged to share the reunion information with their Centre friends and contacts across the country.
