The Confederation Centre of the Arts will present ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by Michele L. Vacca as its fifteenth community Christmas production in the Mainstage Theatre on Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, at 8:00 p.m.
’Twas the Night Before Christmas is the story of the Sheldon family on Christmas Eve. Elizabeth, Timothy and Virginia can’t wait to see what Santa will bring them, if such a person really exists. Christmas Eve also marks the arrival of Great Aunt Winifred, 96 years, 3 months and 12 days old, played by actor Wade Lynch, who complains about everything, all the time, and gives the ugliest socks in the world as Christmas gifts. And no matter what you get her for Christmas she will never like it! But before the night is over, something magical happens to this family.
Island director and actor Laurel Smyth directs this original Christmas play suggested by the famous Clement Moore poem. Playing the role of David Sheldon is Greg Lipton. Buffy Wallace is Margaret Sheldon, and Elizabeth, Timothy and Virginia Sheldon are played by Taya Nabuurs, Colin Power, and Judie Brooks. Wade Lynch will appear as Great Aunt Winifred and Rob Thomson as Santa.
Tickets for this PEI Presents performance are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, and are available at the Confederation Centre’s box office, by phone at 1-800-565-0278, or online at www.peipresents.com.
