Charlottetown – The Confederation Centre Art Gallery invites artists to submit their design for the gallery’s first-ever button event, ‘cute as a…’

“It may be cold outside but the Confederation Centre Art Gallery is warming up winter with our first-ever ‘cute as a…’ event,” says Gallery Educator Siobhan Wiggans. “We are inviting artists to submit a design that can be reproduced on one inch buttons for an exhibition and trading event to be held in the Gallery this winter.”

All artists are invited to submit a design. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and 50 designs will be selected for button reproduction. Artists selected will receive a complimentary ticket to ‘cute as a…’

“During ‘cute as a…’ selected designs will be displayed, and each ticket holder will get to draw five buttons from a bowl,” says Wiggans. “Trading to get the button you really want will be encouraged throughout the lively evening of music and socializing.”

We reserve the right to refuse entries which we consider offensive (i.e.: racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.)

All artwork must be original and free of copyright restrictions; you must be the original creator of the work and be willing to let us reproduce your artwork as necessary.

By submitting artwork to the Confederation Centre Art Gallery you are giving us the right to use the image for publicity, display, and sale as a one inch button. Publicity includes our website and any fair public use related to ‘cute as a….’ including sale at the event or other events, on the Confederation Centre website and in promotional materials.

Please look at the template on our website to assist you with your design.

Digital files should be submitted as Illustrator 10, EPS, PDF, TIF or PSD files at 300dpi in CMYK with your name as the filename (for example, John_Smith.psd). Please do not submit JPG files.
