Charlottetown – The Fables, the popular Newfoundland & Labrador ECMA-winning band, are coming to Charlottetown December 14 for a rousing one night only performance. The Fables have stepped in at the last minute to replace the Irish Descendants who earlier this week cancelled their tour.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Irish Descendants will not be performing here. That’s disappointing. But the great news is that rather than cancel our show we have The Fables onstage December 14,” says James Aylward, Director of PEI Presents at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. “The Fables are such an exciting band to experience live. We are thrilled to have them here on the Confederation Centre Mainstage this holiday season.”
“The Fables toured Newfoundland & Labrador earlier this year to promote their new album, Kings and Little Ones, and now we have them here in Charlottetown,” Aylward adds. “What could have been an unfortunate situation with a last minute cancellation is instead a chance to see a band we have never hosted at the Confederation Centre but have long wanted.”
The Confederation Centre of the Arts will honour all tickets sold for the Irish Descendants performance for The Fables’ concert. For more information, please contact the Box Office at (902) 566-1267 or toll free at 1-800-565-0278.
“The Fables offer a head-on fusion of contemporary rock n’ roll with the time-honoured traditions of Celtic music,” according to the band’s web site, citing “their new sound and fresh approach” as the root of the success of their popular performances.
