It will be a Happy Valentine’s Day wish with a twist of the blues for Maritime Electric employees this week. RBC Dominion Securities is inviting Maritime Electric employees to attend the Official Blues Brothers Revival concert on February 14 at the Confederation Centre of the Arts with complimentary tickets. There will also be a reception for Maritime Electric staff at the Studio Theatre following the performance.
“We want to show our appreciation for the employees at Maritime Electric who worked so tirelessly, over the past two weeks, to restore power to Islanders. We feel that they have gone above and beyond the call of duty - working in the cold, the rain, throughout the night and even missing the Superbowl and we just wanted to do something to show our gratitude. We really hope that they enjoy the show,” says Wade Gregory, Branch Manager at RBC Dominion Securities.
“It's just something we thought would be a good thing to do,” Gregory says about hosting the reception and offering tickets to the show, adding that he knows how difficult and hectic it can be for all staff at the utility during a power outage.
“The Confederation Centre appreciates the support of partners such as RBC Dominion Securities and are very pleased to see our partners go even further by supporting not only us but also recognizing the hard work of others,” says David MacKenzie, CEO of the Confederation Centre of the Arts. “We’re glad we can be part of their contribution to the community.”
