mARTch break camp offers small hands big opportunities

Charlottetown – Let small hands get busy at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery over spring break this year. mARTch break camp is an opportunity for children ages six to twelve to learn about the arts and have fun with painting, drawing and sculpture.

“For the mARTch break camp, we will be looking at a different exhibition each day and doing activities based on those exhibitions,” says Tamara Gough, Gallery Administrator. “Sandi Hartling is the instructor. She is originally from the island but has been studying and working in Newfoundland. She has returned to the island for the visual arts instructor position here at the Gallery.”

mARTch break camp offers participants the opportunity to explore and grow through the arts.

“We hope to hold a ‘mini-exhibition’ on the last day to show off the children’s work from the week and have a creative movement performance,” says Hartling.

The all day camps run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 14, 17, 18, 19 and 20. Children can attend all week or on a day by day basis. Registration fee is $125 for the week or $25 per day. A family rate applies with the registration of two or more children.
