Charlottetown – The Pinch Penny Fair turns 40 this year, and the Friends of Confederation Centre invite one and all to drop by the annual fundraiser for a big birthday bash.
“Our theme this year is for the young and young at heart to celebrate these past 40 years with us,” says Lynn Hodgson, president of the Friends. The Fair takes place April 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
The Friends of Confederation Centre are accepting donations for the Pinch Penny Fair. Proceeds from the Fair support the programmes of the Friends and the Confederation Centre. Some examples of Friends' sponsorship include Art-to-the-Schools, Children's Art activities, the Festive Wreath Exhibit, support of the Youth Chorus, and other special projects to support the Centre.
Tools, gardening supplies, plants, household items, sports equipment, jewellery, books, art and small furniture will be accepted. Clothing and computers will not be accepted.
Items may be dropped off at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, 145 Richmond St., until Thursday, April 17. Please call 628-6141 for more information.
Cutline: Lynn Hodgson and Anne Kells display some of the items that will be available at the Pinch Penny Fair April 19.
