Charlottetown – Broadway. The West End. Victoria Row. Theatre lovers know the names of the places to find great live theatre. The Confederation Centre of the Arts in partnership with The Travel Store is offering theatre patrons the chance to take an escorted trip to the theatre district of London, England this September.
The two organizations partnered last November on a similarly themed trip to New York City. Due to the popularity of the New York trip, they are now offering a seven day package to London that includes several city tours and two nights of theatre. The trip is personally escorted by the Centre and The Travel Store.
“The aim of these trips is to develop the interest of theatre goers and offer theatre experiences on a broader scale,” says David MacKenzie, CEO of the Confederation Centre. “We found on the New York trip that experiencing professional theatre elsewhere helps generate greater interest in theatre here on PEI. It gave us a greater appreciation of how fortunate we are to have a long-standing professional theatre right here in Charlottetown.”
The London Theatre trip departs September 30. There are a limited number of seats available. A portion of the proceeds is contributed to programming at the Confederation Centre. Call The Travel Store for more details at 1-800-883-8124 or visit www.thetravelstore.ca.
