Red Sky brings raven stole the sun to Charlottetown

Charlottetown – The legend of how the Raven Stole the Sun is coming to the stage in Charlottetown in a performance for everyone in the family to enjoy.

A dynamic theatre company shaping contemporary Aboriginal performance in theatre, dance and music, Red Sky takes this traditional story to new heights with a compelling theatre dance piece for family audiences.

Based on a traditional Tlingit story as recounted by Sháa Tláa Maria Williams, Raven is a fabulous and magical creature of impulse and curiosity. In order to satisfy his overwhelming sense of curiosity, he hatches a brilliant scheme for stealing the stars, the moon and the sun, and ends up bringing light to the people of the world.

Red Sky seeks to nourish and strengthen the health, creativity and innovation of First Peoples, world Indigenous, culturally diverse and mainstream communities.

“Raven soars, delights...in a fast-paced show, we go through a whole series of emotions and narrative twists and come out the other end with a nice complete experience intact,” says a review in the Toronto Star

Red Sky appears on the Confederation Centre of the Arts Mainstage, April 12, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12. Tickets are available at the Box Office, by calling (902) 566-1267 or toll free 1-800-565-0278, and online at www.confederationcentre.com.
