Charlottetown – Teenagers staying up all night and drawing on the walls of a public building. If this sounds too good to be true, the Confederation Centre of the Arts Youth Arts Council thinks you might be interested in their upcoming Drawing Marathon.
The Youth Arts Council (YAC) is holding the all night artistic event at Memorial Hall in the Confederation Centre of the Arts May 3 to May 4. Teens ages 14 to 18 are invited to draw from 8 p.m. May 3 to 8 a.m. May 4.
“There will be paper on the walls, paper on the floors, people should even bring a t-shirt to draw on,” says Siobhan Wiggans, Education and Outreach Officer at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. “The marathon is about making your mark and seeing where it takes you.”
“YAC is hosting the Drawing Marathon for all those young people who go nowhere without a pencil or need a pen stuck behind their ear in case of sudden inspiration,” says YAC member Erika Groman. “Throughout the evening there will be competitions, music that gets you places, and more.”
Registration is due by Friday April 25, along with $12 per person or $40 per team of four.
