Charlottetown – Eight trendy art galleries are inviting the public to the First Ever Informal Gallery Crawl in downtown Charlottetown. The Confederation Centre Art Gallery is coordinating this evening of gallery hopping for art enthusiasts June 12. The Crawl begins at 4:30 p.m. at The Showcase Gift Shop in the Confederation Centre of the Arts and concludes at The Kier Gallery.
This free event is a great occasion to mingle with friends and visit the art galleries in downtown Charlottetown all in one night. Participating art galleries include The Showcase, The Guild, Walker Studios, Details Past and Present, Pilar Shephard Arts Gallery Inc., Confederation Centre Art Gallery and The Kier Gallery.
“Join in the Crawl at any of the participating galleries if you can’t make one of the earlier stops. The key word in this inaugural gallery crawl is ‘informal.’ We are encouraging people to cover as much ground as they can,” says Siobhan Wiggans, Education and Outreach Officer at the Centre.
The second last stop on the Gallery Crawl is the Confederation Centre Art Gallery at 7:00 p.m. to coincide with the gala opening of the summer exhibitions. The gala is open to the general public as well.
“I am pleased participating galleries have been enthusiastic to take part in this event. The Gallery Crawl is a great way to kick start the summer with friends and meet other art enthusiasts,” Wiggans adds.
