Schurman Family Studio offers programs for all ages

A full slate of family programming begins in September in the Schurman Family Studio at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, offering workshops for children of all ages.

Bring your budding young artist to the Schurman Family Studio Saturday mornings for fun-filled workshops that explore the arts through drawing, painting and sculpture. The smART fall session begins September 27 and runs for 10 weeks.
smART take I for children in Grades 1 to 3, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to noon
smART take II for children in Grades 4 to 6, Saturdays, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Registration fee is $90 for take I and $110 for take II.

For children in kindergarten, the Confederation Centre Art Gallery is offering kinderART. This program runs for 10 weeks every Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and will introduce children to the foundations of art. The fall session starts September 24. Registration fee is $110.

Keep kid’s boredom at bay by signing them up for Art PD Days. Kids ages 6 to 11 will get an in-depth look at an exhibition with a gallery guide. Afterwards, they will work with a professional artist and create a masterpiece that can find a place in your home. Art PD Days run from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 3, 23, and 24, 2008 and February 3, and May 1,2009. Registration fee is $25 per day.
