Charlottetown - The Confederation Singers, the Confederation Centre of the Arts’ resident adult choir, and the Confederation Centre Youth Chorus are looking for new voices. Don Fraser, Director of Music at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, is conducting intake interviews throughout September and October.
Every year, the adult choir performs two or three concerts, including a performance of Handel’s Messiah.
Rehearsals for the Confederation Singers normally run Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Mack Theatre.
The Confederation Centre Youth Chorus is looking for new members between the ages of 8 and 18. The chorus gives two performances, Sing Noel and Voices of Spring, each year at the Centre, and also sings at community events. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. at The Mack Theatre.
Chorus members recorded a CD entitled On Tour in 2003 and have toured extensively, travelling to France, Belgium, Great Britain, Washington D.C., New York City, British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Membership for either choir is $80 per person. People interested are encouraged to call Donald Fraser at 628-6144.
