Charlottetown – The Charlottetown Festival continues to celebrate Anne Shirley’s 100th birthday in style this year with a September promotion for families to see Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™.
“This has been a great year for the Charlottetown Festival, and Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™ in particular,” says Anne Allan, artistic director for the Charlottetown Festival. “With the popularity of the show this summer we added Saturday matinees in September because we want to ensure that every family has the chance to see Anne™ before the Festival ends.”
With every purchase of an adult ticket for one of the Matinees in September, patrons will receive a free child’s ticket for the same show. Children 12 and under qualify for the free ticket. Matinee performances are at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 13 and 20.
“Attendance this year for Anne™ is the highest it has been in four years. Clearly anniversaries are important for us – four years ago we celebrated the 40th anniversary of the musical with a banner year as well,” Allan adds.
