Charlottetown – Hop, dance, run, walk, or crawl to downtown Charlottetown art galleries Friday, October 17 for the Fall Gallery Crawl! Following in the footsteps of the highly successful first ever gallery crawl this past June, the October event coincides with the gala opening of the fall season at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery.
Beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Showcase Gift Shop at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, the crawl then moves to the Guild, Walker Studios, Details Past and Present, and the Pilar Shephard Art Gallery, before returning to the Confederation Centre for the Art Gallery’s fall gala opening at 7:00 p.m.
The Gallery’s gala opening is open to everyone whether they are involved in the crawl or not. The event takes place Friday, October 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. James Macnutt, co-curator of the exhibition Inside Island Heritage Homes, will be in attendance along with artist Hans Wendt. At the conclusion of the gala, the crawl continues to the t-shirt shop/gallery/café Ampersand to wrap up the evening.
The gala and the crawl are both free and open to everyone interested in an evening of art and socializing. Participants can join the crawl at any time over the evening. For a full schedule of times and participating galleries please contact Siobhan Wiggans at the Art Gallery at 628-6112 or visit www.confederationcentre.com.
