The sounds of Jimi Hendrix coming to the Mainstage

Charlottetown – Classic Albums Live relives the hard rock era of 1967 in its final performance of the PEI Presents season. The band of Canadian musicians recreates the The Jimi Hendrix Experience debut album Are You Experienced?on the Mainstage March 12.

The album highlighted Jimi Hendrix's R&B based, psychedelic, feedback-laden electric guitar playing, and launched him as a major new international star. The Jimi Hendrix Experience also featured Mitch Mitchell on drums and Noel Redding on bass. Are You Experienced? has been cited as one of the greatest debut albums of the rock era featuring classics such as “Purple Haze”, “Foxy Lady” and “Are You Experienced?” Rolling Stone magazine later named Hendrix the greatest guitarist of all time.

Classic Albums Live recreates the album note for note and cut for cut in the first half of the show followed by a collection of Hendrix’s greatest hits in the second half.
