Charlottetown – The Confederation Centre Youth Chorus will deliver its popular annual spring concert Voices of Spring on Sunday, April 5, at 3 p.m., at Trinity United Church in Charlottetown.
The concert will include classics by Bach, Handel, Palestrina, and Pergolesi as well as contemporary and traditional folksongs. Music from the popular Broadway musicals The Lion King and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will also be featured.
Donald Fraser, Director of Music, will direct the 65-member Chorus, with accompaniment provided by Sara White.
The Confederation Centre Youth Chorus provides Island youth, ages 8-20 with a unique opportunity to develop their musical skills at home and abroad. The Chorus performs regularly at the Confederation Centre and other venues. Members have recorded a CD entitled On Tour (2003) and have toured extensively, travelling to France, Belgium, Great Britain, Washington D.C., New York City, British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
The Chorus will be performing on the Future World West Stage at Epcot Centre, Disney World during their upcoming tour to Florida. They will also be performing at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Orlando.
