Charlottetown – The concourse at the Confederation Centre of the Arts is alive with the artistic work of 60 college students. Titled simply, Holland College Student Exhibition, the new Confederation Centre Art Gallery exhibit fills each of the five glass display cases in the main concourse with the work of students from five different departments.
Coordinated by the Art Gallery’s interim curator, Mireille Eagan, the exhibition showcases the work of students in the college’s Media and Communications Program.
Each case is dedicated to one stream of the program: Fundamental Arts, Graphic Design, Interactive Multimedia, Video Game Art and Design, and Photography and Digital Imaging.
“This is an opportunity for the Gallery to support and celebrate the creative work of Holland College’s students, as well as their artistic programming. It is a chance for the public to have a peek at the high-calibre work they create,” Eagan says. “In some cases, students have created work just for the show.”
The Holland College Student Exhibition opened April 2 and runs until June 7.
