Riverdance farewell tour to play The Charlottetown Festival

Charlottetown – RIVERDANCE, the thunderous celebration of Irish music, song and dance that has tapped its way onto the world stage thrilling millions of people around the globe, will play 18 farewell performances at The Charlottetown Festival this October.

“We are extending The Charlottetown Festival this year to accommodate this exciting addition to our line-up. Riverdance has performed in so many world class venues, and we are thrilled to add the Homburg Theatre to that list,” says David MacKenzie, CEO of the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

Riverdance will perform in the Confederation Centre of the Arts’ Homburg Theatre October 2 through 17 with evening and matinee performances.

Composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan, to date, Riverdance has played more than 10,000 performances, been seen live by more than 21 million people in more than 300 venues throughout 32 countries across 4 continents. Tickets for Riverdance are now on sale at the box office. Tickets purchased by August 29th will receive a 20% discount. Not valid with any other discount or offer.

This extension to The Charlottetown Festival was made possible by the Government of Canada Marquee Tourism Events Program funding announced earlier this year by the Honourable Gail Shea.
