This new programme for students ages 11 to 16 offers an education in the arts from professionals and engages them in the process of creating a piece of theatre. Under the direction of the artistic director and senior Charlottetown Festival company members, students will have a four week intensive training experience. The young artists will perform in Peter and the Wolf, a musical story by Sergei Prokofiev with a moral – you can’t be a hero if you don’t take risks. The orchestra is onstage, each instrument is a different character. The students and audience learn about the orchestra through story-telling and dance.
This is an elite programme that is an extension of The Charlottetown Festival Summer Theatre Camps.
