Stones In His Pockets
Witty, funny, sparkling with surprising touches of poignancy, the award-winning Stones In His Pockets is terrific contemporary Irish theatre.
When Hollywood overruns a rural Irish village, the culture clash between the arrogant cast and crew and underemployed Irish locals is inevitable, and inevitably hilarious.
In this tongue-in-cheek comedy two actors portray over 13 characters amidst a film production of “The Quiet Valley.” While using the townsfolk as extras, the studio attempts to exploit the authenticity of the local people all the while missing out on the real life stories behind the small timers with big dreams. When tragedy intervenes, the community begins to reassess the shallow nature of film and Hollywood style fantasies.
