A wide variety of finely crafted Island pottery, wood working, fused glass and award winning artisan jewellery are just a part of the collectibles that fill the elegant Showcase Gift Shop, conveniently located beside the box office in the Confederation Centre of the Arts. The Showcase features a large collection of Charlottetown Festival memorabilia, including original music from Anne of Green Gables- The Musical™, clothing and more – you can take home a piece of the magic!
Add to that unique thread painting fabric art, distinct Island photography and paintings and you have one of the city’s finest places to shop. The gift shop has always focused on offering quality Canadian made products. Locally made Prince Edward Island items are their first priority, followed by Atlantic Canadian made items and unique products from across the country.
The Showcase opened in 1965, the year after the Centre opened and has enjoyed three locations and a variety of expansions over the years. In 2003 the present version was opened and quickly became known as the spot for that one-of-a-kind find! The Showcase Gift Shop is one part of the Confederation Centre of the Arts, a not-for-profit, charitable organization with volunteers assisting the staff, and all profits from the gift shop go back to the Centre to support arts programming.
When you are searching for that special one of a kind gift for that person who appreciates the fine craftsmanship needed to create it, then this shop is a must visit. Each piece, from the hand blown glass to the hand cut woodwork, fine Island pottery, photography, painting, hand crafted jewellery and so much more, offers something unique that can only be found at The Showcase Gift Shop.
