Peggy Reddin is Director of Dance Development at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. She co-founded dance umbrella (now part of the Youth Education Program of Confederation Centre) in 1988 with Julia Sauvé and has served as its Director since 1996. She is a graduate of the National Ballet School Teacher Training Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) degree from U.P.E.I.

Ms. Reddin has taught with Charlottetown Ballet Theatre, DancEast, and Confederation Centre Young Company, and has directed and choreographed numerous events on the Island. She was also the project founder for Dance with D.A.W.N., and innovative dance programme for women with disabilities.

In addition to her work in Dance Education, Ms. Reddin is very involved in the local arts community. She has worked in collaboration with Theatre P.E.I., the P.E.I.  Symphony, and the U.P.E.I. Music Department, among others. She has served on
the board of the PEI Council of the Arts and as a juror for the New Brunswick Arts Board and the PEI Council of the Arts.

Julia Sauvé, M.A. in Movement Education, has worked on the Island as a dance teacher, free-lance choreographer and performer for the past twenty years.  She was co-founder of dance umbrella and Montage Dance Theatre, and has worked with numerous Arts organizations on P.E.I. Ms. Sauvé spent two years teaching at a private school in New Hampshire and with their Performance Plus summer program. She is now a teacher and Program Director for America Dance Training Camp.

Amy Mullen, Master of Fine Arts, is the newest addition to the dance umbrella teaching staff. She has extensive experience as a teacher, performer, and choreographer. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes building community, cultivating artistry, and developing a sense of creative growth through self-expression and risk taking.

Wanda Naylor has a varied dance background and has of late specialized in teaching dance, art, and music for young children. She has earned degrees in Fine Arts and Primary/Junior Education from York University. Wanda has also been known to clown around with the "Merrytime/Canadian Clown and Puppet Theatre".

Buffy Wallace has studied various forms of dance since she was ten years old. She is a graduate of the Sheridan College Musical Theatre Program. This, coupled with years of study with the National Ballet School, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Ballet Etc. and various private instructors, has given Buffy strong technical knowledge and creativity.

Dianne Campbell has trained in Charlottetown, Halifax, Toronto, and Ottawa. She performed in Halifax with Sekai, and Sara Shelton, and in Charlottetown with Montage Dance Theatre and with Julia Sauvé. Dianne's second love is acting and she was a founding member of Off Stage Theatre.

Anna Lacroix has taught Jazz and Hip hop classes for both dance umbrella and youth groups, and has 20 years experience teaching fitness. Anna also enjoys performing Modern Dance and Jazz.

Sandy Zinck holds degrees in Arts and Music (voice) from Acadia University and an Education degree from University of Alberta. She has taught drama and musical theatre with both Edmonton Public Schools and the Toronto Board of Education.

Estelle Reddin has been with dance umbrella since the school began. She has completed the advanced level of the Accompanist Seminar at the National Ballet School, and brings to the classes a deep appreciation of the connections between music and movement.
