The Confederation Centre of the Arts is dedicated to the education of Canada’s next generation of visual and performing artists.

Our Young@Arts! programme encourages children to explore creative expression in a variety of ways, from drawing and sculpting to acting and singing! Through school collaborations, summer camps and year-round classes and activities, Young@Arts! introduces children to the arts in a fun and professional setting.

Young@Arts! programming is generously supported by the Michael S. Schurman Family Foundation, who made a sizeable donation to the program last year. Chaired by well-known Island businessman Michael Schurman, the foundation’s contribution allows the centre to continue well-known programs, such as Dance Umbrella and the Confederation Centre Children’s Choir.

The Island Children's Theatre Training 
Young aspiring theatre performers will be chosen from an audition to be trained in an elite programme for students who are between the ages of 11 and 16.
