Jesus Christ Superstar  |  June 7 - September 22, 2018   |  Homburg Theatre  | 1:30 pm/8 pm

A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for over 40 years, Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless rock opera set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.” Sponsored by Tim Hortons

Anne of Green Gables-The Musical™  |  June 18 - September 22, 2018  |  Homburg Theatre  |
1:30 pm/7:30 pm
Book by Don Harron. Music by Norman Campbell. Lyrics by Don Harron & Norman Campbell. Additional lyrics by Mavor Moore & Elaine Campbell. Directed by Adam Brazier

“Anne of Green Gables never change”. Now in its historic 54th season, this re-visioning by director Adam Brazier is a Canadian classic in every sense of the word. Based on L.M. Montgomery’s beloved novel, the musical adaptation of the story of an imaginative red-haired orphan searching for belonging is guaranteed to tug at heartstrings and tickle funny bones.  Having played to over two million people, this musical is a “must see” for island visitors.  Sponsored by CAA

On the Road with Dutch Mason  |  June 30 - September 22, 2018  |  The Mack  |  8 pm
Based on the non-fiction book "On the Road with Dutch Mason" by David Bedford and Harvey Sawler. Written and adapted by Wade Lynch.

When Dutch Mason’s regular harmonica player is sidelined with illness, David Bedford, a Political Science professor and amateur harp player, is recruited to join Dutch and his band on a historic road trip that will shock Bedford out of his self-prescribed life of buttoned-down conformity. From the cramped quarters of Dutch’s rooming house in Truro, Nova Scotia, to the spacious back seat of his ’95 Cadillac Eldorado, where he holds court,  Dave soon learns that it is in the smoky spotlight that Dutch Mason’s true genius is revealed.  The authenticity of his music is a product of Dutch’s own life experience. Like the man himself, DUTCH MASON takes risks, tells stories, infrequently breaks the law and is constantly driven forward by the best blues music in the country. WARNING: Mature language, immature jokes, regretful behaviour and great, great music.

Stories from the Red Dirt Road
