Guidelines for 2015 Symons Lecture Contest

The Symons Lecture Contest invites high school students in grades 11 or 12 from the Province of Prince Edwards Island to  to submit their response in either a visual or written medium.The Symons Lecture Contest is a part of the annual Symons Medal and Lecture on the State of Canadian Confederation the is an initiative of Confederation Centre of the Arts furthering its unique heritage mandate as Canada's national memorial to the Fathers of Confederation.

What are we asking of students?

After listening to the “State of Canadian Confederation” address by Mr. Paul Gross, this year’s Symons Medal winner, what do you think is his most important message about the Arts in Canada? How can young Canadians turn this message into action(s) that will have an impact upon the Arts for the future? Based on Mr. Gross’ lecture, what do you perceive should happen and what role should young Canadians play in attaining a positive future for the Arts in Canada?
