Half-Day Art Camps
Campers will get an in-depth look at an exhibition in the art gallery with visual arts instructor Gail Hodder. The gallery visit will include a scavenger hunt. Afterwards, in the Schurman Family Studio, a craft/art project is taught and campers create their own masterpiece!
Space is limited to 20 students, so register early. Students must bring a snack and drink for mid-morning break. The Schurman Family Studio is a peanut-free environment.

The Confederation Centre's Visual Arts Summer Camps are a fun-filled week of art exploration and creation. Your child will get their imagination fired up while getting their hands dirty with activities in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other traditional and new art media. Camps include gallery visits, outdoor drawing sessions and a weekly exhibition of student's work.
The Centre's fully equipped Schurman Family Studio is the ideal place for your child to be immersed in creativity and creation, working with trained visual arts educators in an enriching environment. With access to the Confederation Centre Art Gallery, your young art enthusiast will explore, create and have fun! Each week ends with an exhibition of your child's artwork.
Art Camps run July 4-August 24, Monday through Friday.
3-2-1 Camp for Tweens!
3 days - July 4-6
2 activities - costume design and theatre performance
1 performance - camp finale extravaganza!
This 3-day intensive camp will look at masks, costumes and theatre. Students will be asked to explore an existing tale, make radical changes to modernize it, then perform their new masterpiece for family and friends. For ages 9-12. Cost is $125. Camp hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

For ages 7-12. Cost is $160 per week or you can take advantage of our early bird rate of $130 per week if your child's camp is booked by May 7!
Family rates: Two children is $300 per week and each additional child is $100 per week. Camp hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Registration is on a weekly basis and designed to accommodate return campers!

If your child is having a birthday party and loves ART, book the Schurman Family Studio to celebrate their special day!!
Details:
The Schurman Family Studio is a large space fully equipped to teach groups of kids; and is an excellent location for your young art-enthusiast's b-day party!
Birthday parties usually take place on Sunday between 2-4 p.m. It starts with a 15 minute guided tour of a current exhibition in the Art Gallery. Following the tour, kids complete an art activity geared to their age group. We provide the following three options for art activities (please choose one):
- drawing lesson/watercolour activity;
- basic painting activity; or
- introduction to collage
After the activity parents have the time and space to accommodate their own birthday party traditions. Those traditions may include snacks, drinks, birthday cake, a piñata, opening of presents, games, loot bags, etc.
Cost:
The birthday child attends for free! A minimum of 6 additional children at $10.00 per child is required. Payment can be made via cheque or cash at the beginning or end of the birthday party. Cheques should be made payable to "Confederation Centre of the Arts."
We Provide:
In addition to the art activity, instruction and materials, the Centre will provide a fruit tray; a birthday table with tablecloth; napkins; paper plates; and forks. Assistance with clean-up will be provided. We can also send you a map of the Schurman Family Studio which can be included in your child's birthday invitations.
You Provide:
The kids! Parents should also provide the birthday cake, drinks and additional snacks (if desired). Other popular provisions may be decorations such as themed paper plates and napkins, balloons, party favours or loot bags.
